Community

Residents of Warrior Homesteads Incorporated (WHI) communities will adhere to the local, township or county regulations in which they live. The volume and extent of WHI community expansion and support will be based upon donor contributions, grants and foundation gifts. Homesteads will be provided free of charge to veterans who lack housing, with the intent of transitioning them to eventual self -support and independence.

More than dignity and respect, our homeless servicemen and women (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard; Public Health Service) deserve a safe place to live, thrive and survive.

Each “homestead” (a community of tiny homes) will be located within a major metropolitan area. So our residents will have free access to public transportation. This is important for access to work, local outreach, and medical services. In addition to the individual units, each “homestead” will feature a community center (also built from up-cycled shipping containers). These centers will have laundry facilities, showers, and internet connectivity. The space can also be used as a community outreach center, where people can drop off donations. Our residents may use whatever they wish, and recycle the rest. Having these centers at their disposal is crucial to building a strong sense of community with our residents. There is even revenue generation potential, depending on how the communities develop.
